Cancer

Im sure those reading know that Cancer is not an individual disease it affects all who are involved with the person who is diagnosed with the cancer. Our family Easter celebration this year was interupted by the sad news that our Uncle has been diagnosed with stomach Cancer at age 57.

The first sign that we knew something was wrong was he had lost a considerable amount of weight in a very short amount of time. His co-workers were asking his brothers ( my father and another brother ) What was wrong with Frank? No one had that answer.

I do not know how or who talked Frank into going to the doctors. I do know that the scope that the doctor put down his throat was unable to go any further than where the cancer was. He apparently has had the cancer for a very long time before ever going to the doctor.

I mentioned that I did not know how or who talked my Uncle into going to the doctor. I do mean this literally. He is very stuborn and wants to be alone. He has been known to shut people out instead of inviting them in on his terms.

Perhaps the attitude was actually fear of not knowing what was wrong. I would certaintly be fearful. The only differance is that I would reach out to family and God.
